Each Concordia programme is built around the idea that communication is a skill — and skills develop most reliably when they are taught step by step, practised in a structured environment, and then carried into daily life as habits rather than procedures.
Our methodology draws on dialogue facilitation frameworks developed for community settings, adapted thoughtfully for family contexts. The key principles across all three programmes are the same: give people a clear structure, reduce the cognitive load of figuring out how to have the conversation, and let the actual content of the discussion be the focus.
Where appropriate, materials include written prompts, role suggestions and agenda templates that participants keep after the session. All delivery is calm in tone and intentionally unhurried. Progress is measured by skill retention and participant confidence, not by session completion alone.
Family Meeting Planning

How It Works
Receive the planning pack — templates, role cards and a short written guide to setting up your first household meeting.

Family Communication Workshop
A facilitated session on listening, turn-taking and calm conversation during sensitive family discussions. Educational and skills-based, with no individual guidance on any specific matter. Participants work through structured exercises in a safe, neutral group setting.

How It Works
Register and receive a brief pre-session overview of what the workshop covers and what to bring.
Attend the facilitated session, which introduces key listening and turn-taking concepts through practical group exercises.
Work through scenario-based exercises with other participants to practise each technique in a low-stakes setting.
Leave with a reference card and a short written summary of the methods covered for use at home.
Facilitation Skills Training
A short course teaching neutral, mediation-style conversation methods for community and family settings. Skill-building only, separate from any individual case. Participants complete the course with a practical toolkit of facilitation techniques they can use in their own household or community group.

How It Works
Enrol and receive the course overview and pre-reading materials covering the principles of neutral facilitation.
Attend the first session, which covers meeting structure design and the fundamentals of impartial facilitation.
Complete practical exercises in subsequent sessions, taking turns as facilitator in simulated family and community scenarios.
Finish the course with a personal facilitation guide and a debrief session reviewing key learnings and areas to develop further.
